Measure your floor plan →What Planner 5D is for
Planner 5D is a drag-and-drop home design application. You draw rooms, add furniture, and get a 3D visualization of a space. It's popular with homeowners planning renovations, real estate agents staging properties virtually, and interior designers sketching concepts.
Planner 5D can show you the area of a room you've drawn inside the app, but it's not designed for importing an existing floor plan and measuring it accurately. Its strength is design and visualization, not measurement.
What PlanSnapper is for
PlanSnapper is a measurement tool. You upload a floor plan PDF or image (from an appraiser, MLS, or your own sketch), trace the exterior perimeter, and get a GLA figure following ANSI Z765 methodology. The tool handles scale calibration and area calculation automatically.
PlanSnapper doesn't do 3D visualization or furniture placement. It does one thing: accurate, fast square footage from an existing floor plan.
Appraisal use
Planner 5D is not used in residential appraisal. It has no concept of ANSI Z765, above-grade vs. below-grade classification, or GLA reporting.
PlanSnapper was built specifically for appraisal workflows: the tool reflects ANSI standards, produces a defensible square footage figure, and integrates with standard reporting formats.
