What File Formats Does PlanSnapper Accept?

PlanSnapper accepts image files. JPG and PNG are the formats that work best. If your floor plan is a PDF, you need to convert it to an image first. Here is what you need to know.

Supported formats

Upload your floor plan as a JPG or PNG file. These are the most common image formats and work reliably with the auto perimeter finder.

Why resolution matters

The auto perimeter finder traces the outer walls of your floor plan. It needs enough pixel detail to distinguish walls from background. A higher resolution image gives it more to work with and produces a more accurate trace.

Minimum recommended width: 800 pixels. Anything below that and detection quality drops noticeably. Most floor plan exports from CubiCasa, Matterport, and iGUIDE are well above this threshold by default.

How to convert a PDF floor plan to an image

PDFs are the most common format appraisers and agents deal with. Here are three quick ways to convert:

Exporting from CubiCasa

Log into your CubiCasa dashboard, open the floor plan, and download the floor plan image directly. CubiCasa exports a clean, high-resolution PNG that works well with PlanSnapper out of the box. Just remove any labels or exterior dimensions before uploading.

Exporting from Matterport

Matterport does not have a direct floor plan image export in the standard interface. The simplest approach: open the 3D tour, switch to the floor plan view, maximize your browser window, and take a screenshot. Use a large monitor or external display if you have one for the best resolution.

Exporting from iGUIDE

Log into the iGUIDE portal and download the floor plan image from the project. iGUIDE provides a clean floor plan image that is already to-scale and works well with PlanSnapper.
