How to Use CubiCasa, Matterport, or iGUIDE Floor Plans with PlanSnapper
Floor plans from CubiCasa, Matterport, and iGUIDE are already drawn to scale. They work perfectly with PlanSnapper and produce highly accurate square footage results. Here is how to get the image out of each platform and into PlanSnapper.
Why these platforms work so well
CubiCasa, Matterport, and iGUIDE all create floor plans using real physical measurement data, either from scanning hardware or photogrammetry. The resulting floor plans are accurately scaled to real-world dimensions. When you set the scale correctly in PlanSnapper, measurements from these floor plans are typically within 1 to 2% of a field measurement.
Exporting from CubiCasa
CubiCasa provides a direct floor plan image download from the project dashboard.
- Log into your CubiCasa account and open the project
- Find the floor plan image download option (look for "Download" or "Export")
- Download the floor plan image at the highest available resolution
- Before uploading to PlanSnapper, prep the image: remove the "Main Level" or "First Floor" label and any exterior dimension strings. See the floor plan prep guide.
Exporting from Matterport
Matterport does not offer a one-click floor plan image export from the standard interface. The best approach is a screenshot.
- Open the 3D tour in your browser
- Switch to the floor plan (schematic floor plan) view
- Maximize your browser window or use a large external display
- Take a screenshot: Cmd+Shift+4 on Mac, Win+Shift+S on Windows
- Crop tightly around the floor plan level you want to measure
- Prep the image (remove labels, deck outlines) before uploading
Tip: screenshot at the highest zoom level that still shows the whole floor plan. More pixels means better detection accuracy.
Exporting from iGUIDE
iGUIDE provides floor plan image downloads directly from the portal.
- Log into the iGUIDE portal and open the property
- Navigate to the floor plan section and download the floor plan image
- iGUIDE exports a clean, high-resolution image that works well with PlanSnapper
- Prep the image to remove exterior labels before uploading
After exporting: prep before uploading
All three platforms include labels, dimension strings, and sometimes deck outlines that sit outside the exterior wall boundary. These can confuse the auto perimeter finder. Spend 30 seconds painting them out in an image editor before uploading.
